Rat on a Mono Ski

A friend sent me this precious find. Mickey Mouse on a monoski. Mr. Mouse is a playboy. I could have guessed that he loves snow sports. But I would have never thought that he is into monoskiing!

The illustrator's rendering of the ski is kind of crude. It looks more like a 1" thick sled. Without a sidecut this ski would be as manouverable as a 2x4 on ice. The shovel has a peculiar slit that makes the whole thing look like two skis. I can't imagine that the slit serves any function but to let snow spray the skier in the face.
